Welcome Message from the Principal

THE POWER OF SPEECH

 NCCAE New Class Offering for 2009 Spring Semester

Speech is power; speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel. The speech is the mirror of the soul. When a man speaks, so is he. The Chinese traditional virtue is that keep low profile and don’t speak it out, as long as you do it, people will find it and reward what you did. That is the old timer. The time is changing especially in this land of opportunity, I bet you know it. Probably it may be too late to know it for you, but it may not be too late for your children.

How to become a well-received person for your children in the social life? How to make your children overcome their shyness in public, make them express their ideas, ability and achievements sufficiently and effectively? Do your children need the courtesy training in the western public environment? Could  your children express themselves naturally and gracefully in the social activities? Are your children well prepared for the formal interviews and public speaking?  Could your children present their projects in their schools leisurely and perfectly? The answer for those questions is yes if they undergo NCCAE’s trainings for public speech. Now NCCAE proudly and solemnly announces that Speech Expert Diane Sands will teach in our two new public speech classes in the 2009 Spring Semester. Expert Mrs. Sands has more than 10 year experiences in the toastmaster, and she will use her valuable experiences, skills, and teaching methods in her class to intensively train the students by all means.

Public Speech (1): Communications and Courtesy in Public (9-12 year old, limited to 12 students)

This class will train students through teacher’s presentation and student’s practices in the following two aspects:
1. Understand the basic public courtesies in the public places
2. Improve the student  speech ability in the public places
Students will exercise their speech ability on the problems and situations they encountered in their everyday life and schools. For examples, but not limited to:
1. How to receive and make a telephone conversations;
2. How to use euphemism language to borrow things (stationery, toys) tactfully;
3. How to decline invitation tactfully (birthday party etc.)
4. How to deal with a wrong censure

Public Speech (2): Public Speaking and Interviews (13-15 year old, limited to 12 students)
This class will train and improve the abilities of students in the following aspects, but not limited to:
1. How to attract your partner’s attentions during one-on-one or group discussions
2. How to prepare the essence, sequence and contents in a public speech;
3. How to use gestures, tones, eye-breakers and body language to attract audience;
4. How to overcome the shyness and the bad language knack and body actions
In this class, the teacher will propose a presentation, a speech, or a interview subject predetermined, or  just select a subject impromptu randomly in the class, students  will give a speech on the determined subject within the time limit. The referees, either teacher or other students, or just some guests, will comment, critique and discuss the performance of the speakers. So that the speakers know what strengths and weakness of his/her speaking performance are. The students in the class play double roles as both a speaker and a critic. The purpose of it is through the repeated rehearsals, students are excised to be confidence, leisure, sunshine, composed and steady in public places.
